Week 2 (of 1/09/11), drawn on 1/12/11

this was a life-changing week. (refer to link under “inspiration #2”) i praise God for opening my eyes; thus, i can say that i dedicate this to Him. i dedicate everything to Him. this week (Monday) i started reading the Bible— right from the beginning. i am now in the middle of Genesis. i aspire to finish reading the entire Bible by the end of the year! i don’t think that i’ll find this to be a problem because when i read His Word, i get this unexplicable feeling. i feel right at home; i feel that everything is right. i feel all my problems melt away, and it’s just me and God. i feel so much joy.

Profile of the Obsessed.

 • inspiration #1: “Crazy Love” by Francis Chan. this book has definitely challenged me, and this is where i directly got the phrase “profile of the obsessed”
 • inspiration #2: basically summed up in what i wrote here.

other writing/scribbles in the picture:

 • (the cross) - “profile of the obsessed, what does it take, discipleship”
 • “my hands for You and Your glory forevermore, for the expansion of Your kingdom”
 • “not with gold or silver but with the pure blood of Jesus Christ” (Acts 3:6)
 • “what can i give but my life?”
 • “don’t need planes or cars”
 • “release your inhibitions”
 • “not my life…”
 • “unperplexed, daring, unafraid”

alright.

i’ve decided to make this a 52 week project just because 1) it’s easier and 2) i won’t feel forced to find something meaningful in a way and draw it. it’ll allow for me to weedle out the really important things and focus my energy/time into making it look pretty :)

so there. i’ll be putting another one up really soon!

“Widen your horizons” is what Tom LeFroy said in the movie “Becoming Jane,” which I watched today! It’s about Jane Austen, who is one of my favorite authors. It’s a really good movie and reminded me how powerful words are. So, I felt compelled to write the phrase, this phrase, that, in the movie, basically enabled Tom to win Jane’s (played by Anne Hathaway) heart. Teehee.
PS: I’m not really happy with this drawing. I tried my best to make up/cover up some mistakes I made.

Today could be summed up in 2 things:
some REALLY good filipino lunch i ate today (tokwa’t baboy and gotta with chicken <3)
having to gather up perseverance to break through my extra-lazy-phase i created during break so that i could actually finish my homework. which i did!
Today’s sermon at HGC reminded me that I can’t keep certain things in my life devoid of God… it’s just impossible. I gotta keep reminding myself that yes school has to everything to do with God, my attitude has everything to do with God, my self-control, what i decide to wear tomorrow…chyeah. It takes perseverance to remind yourself of that daily. But then again, even one’s perseverance can’t be mustered up without God’s help ;) So I combined the words ”tummy,” representing my euphoria from today’s amazingly delicious lunch, and “tenacity,” which means perseverance.

It says: “Hope for the year, dread for Monday.” Christmas/winter break went by extremely fast, and I’m still shocked that in 2 days it’ll be Monday. Nonetheless, I’m excited for 2011 - graduation year! I’m a whole different person compared to who I was 4 years ago, and I only have God to thank for that. Here’s to another year of moulding…
